sigtronica moving…
TUESDAY, MAY 29 2007
… for the summer season. Now on Tuesdays at the early hour of 6-7PM, EDT (GMT-4), which means I have to be careful of language, given some of the tracks that I’ve gotten away with this past season…
Also, this will be my last season at WMBR, as I am finishing my master’s degree at the MIT Media Lab. I’ll be starting a PhD program in the fall in Information Sciences at Cornell University. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get a show on their radio station, WVBR, so sigtronica might not have a real-life, terrestrial presence next fall. Maybe an online-only podcast? Maybe integrate interviews? Not sure, but let me know if you, the listeners, have any ideas or suggestions. But there’s a lot left to be determined and I’ll keep everybody posted as I begin to figure things out.

Show moving to Mondays (tonight!)
MONDAY, MARCH 5 2007
New season at WMBR means a new time for the show. sigtronica will now be on Monday nights from 10-11PM EST starting tonight. What’s nice about this later slot is that I’m now free to play pieces that might, ahem, use foul language. Thank you, FCC!
For those listening via podcast, there really isn’t any change. But maybe you’ll get some of the sounds of sigtronica earlier in the week…

sigtronica moving to Wednesdays
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 2006
The fall is not the time for decay and endings, but rather the time for new beginnings and reaffirmations. Or perhaps I believe this simple because I’m still in graduate school, where the transition to September means the beginning of another cycle of the academic year.
Philosophizing aside, sigtronica will be moving as a result of the new WMBR season. Beginning next week, I will now broadcast Wednesday nights from 2100-2200 EDT (GMT – 4). Expect the same non-sameness of new and old experimental and electronic music.

sigtronica switch
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 2006
Just to let all of the listeners know, I’ll be switching with sans serif for the next couple weeks, in addition to having a somewhat shorter show (40 minutes or so). I have a class that conflicts with my usual time, and that takes me a bit to get to, hence the switching and shorter length.
Physicality and the inability to be in more than one place at once raises its beautiful head…
So: sigtronica, for at least the next couple weeks, will be at 6PM instead of 7PM, and will be only around 40 minutes in length.
Sorry for any inconvenience!

sigtronica has moved!
SUNDAY, JUNE 4 2006
A little late to the website, yes, but sigtronica has moved for the summer season on WMBR. I now broadcast Monday nights from 1900-2000 EDT (GMT – 4). I’m still playing avant-garde, experimental, and electronic music each week. Let me know what you think!

the sigtronica website rises
MONDAY, MARCH 13 2006
I’ve finally re-designed and updated the sigtronica website. In the coming days I’ll be adding old playlists and archives along with more links and thoughts. The posts will be time-travelling, as the playlists will be appearing on the date that the show aired. Isn’t the power of technology to completely mess with time amazing?
Thanks for listening!
